Description

Our fresh-cut sod is designed to thrive and requires minimal maintenance in the Mid-Atlantic region, also known as the Transition Zone.

This Maryland Certified Turf contains a blend of 90% turf-type tall fescue and 10% bluegrass. This blend is designed to withstand the hot summers and cold winters of the Mid-Atlantic region.

Monitored for weeds, pests, and fungus, as well as a number of other things you don’t want in your yard, our quality sod is designed to do the following:

  • Require very little maintenance – Maryland Certified Turf is drought-tolerant due to its dense root system.
  • Withstand heat, shade, and direct sunlight.
  • Remain naturally healthy due to naturally occurring fungus that helps ward off insect pressure.
  • Help the environment – Clippings left behind provide soil nutrition, and tall fescue grass is a great tool to help control water runoff and soil erosion problems.
  • Provide superior quality – Our sod meets the criteria of Maryland Certified Turf.

Whether you are a homeowner, landscaper, or building contractor, you can enjoy the fast installation and quality turf that your family, home, and customers deserve!

More on Fresh Cut Sod

Landscaping matters!

Whether you’re constructing a new building or trying to give your current home or business a facelift, the first thing people will notice is your lawn.

Is it patchy and weedy, with multiple dead spots?

Or maybe you don’t have a lawn at all—just bare dirt from a recent construction project!

In either case, you can solve this problem by using fresh-cut sod to create an instant, lush, weed-and-pest-free lawn.

What it is

Sod is living grass, grown on a farm and then harvested by cutting it, along with an inch or so of topsoil, so it can be transplanted onto your lawn.

Our fresh-cut sod is Maryland Certified Turf, 90% tall fescue and 10% bluegrass. It’s designed to thrive in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Benefits of Sod

  1. Sod provides an “instant lawn”
No need to wait for your lawn to grow—with sod, you can get a lawn instantly! Not only will it look fantastic, but it will help eliminate erosion and control mud and dust.
  2. Sod is healthy
Since sod is professionally grown, it is weed-free, pest-free, and well-fertilized. Your lawn will be healthy and robust as a result, without bare patches, weeds, or other unsightly lawn problems.
  3. Sod requires less maintenance
Because a sod lawn is robust and healthy, it won’t require much maintenance, and its dense root system means it won’t need as much irrigation.
  4. Sod prevents soil erosion
Sod holds the dirt in place with its root system, preventing the ground from eroding away.
  5. Sod can be installed year-round
Unless the ground is frozen, sod can be installed at any time of year, which makes it very convenient.

When to Use Sod

Sod can be used for a number of purposes, including:

Erosion control

If you’re working on a project involving a bare piece of ground that you don’t want to erode away, a perfect “quick fix” is to install sod.

Mud and dust control

If you’re having issues with mud or dust, installing sod will instantly solve this problem.

Instant beauty

If you need to make a property look nice as quickly as possible, sod is your solution!

A better lawn

Some people install sod, not just because it’s quick, but because it makes such a healthy robust lawn! It’s nice to not have to worry about weeds, pests, and bare patches, and it sure is handy to not have to water as often.

If you have a patchy lawn or no lawn at all, consider fixing the problem by using our fresh-cut sod to instantly transform a bare piece of ground into a luscious, healthy lawn!
